I fairly consistently point out, correctly, that there mutual desires for wealth, cultural connections (USA is the world's fourth largest Chinese country. Send more please) doom them to trade and peace rather than war. The greatly improved communications we enjoy mean there are far fewer chances for misunderstandings to escalate into war.
