CCG Thought Corner: Key Takeaways from COP28 and the Way Forward
The Dec. 21 climate-focused event features keynote speech by MA Jun, Founder of the Institute of Public & Environmental Affairs (IPE) and report by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
On Dec. 21, 2023, the Center for China & Globalization (CCG) Thought Corner, co-organized by the Global Young Leaders Dialogue Program (GYLD) and Global Shapers Community Beijing II Hub, will explore the accomplishments thus far and the unmet challenges in climate change governance, action and resilience.
This event is organized in the belief that despite breakthroughs at COP 28, such as the "loss and damage fund" and the commitment to "shift from fossil fuels", far more needs to be done to curb the growing impact of climate change.
The event features a keynote speech by MA Jun, Founder of the Institute of Public & Environmental Affairs (IPE), and a report launch by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). They will be followed by a discussion between participants and speakers towards concrete actionable steps for the upcoming COP29, to be hosted by Azerbaijan in 2024.
